“E-eh?! Get outta here… you’re kiddin’ me, right? ‘s not some kinda joke?” Well, that changes everything. She took back what she said about him being a creep. All right, it doesn’t really give him a free pass but it did give her more of an incentive to shut up and play nice.
Or flare up and stutter like a foolish school girl.
“An’ w-w-why would’ja wanna get me somethin’ for— y’know—-Valentine’s, anyway?” His feelings were exceedingly unclear at this point in time, so she couldn’t fault herself for being a little suspicious. Her heart stammered. Who knows, he was capable of breaking her heart as he’s done in the past, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
“Don’t you usually get people you care about things on Valentine’s Day..? I mean, I don’t usually… do this just for anyone. Maybe my parents but you’d be the first girl I really did anything for…” Ruby looked away, feeling rather embarrassed he was admitting this. But it was true since there wasn’t a girl that he really had any feelings for before.
Suddenly he held out two Poké Balls, the one in his left hand behind held out for Sapphire to take. Again, this was the cheesiest kind of gift this guy could ever think of but he got it for her anyways.
“You’ll know when you see the Pokémon.” Holding the one he had in his hand, he turned to let the unknown creature. And it was a… Luvdisc, the Rendezvous Pokémon.
She narrowed her eyes, taken aback by how flustered the other was being. He was clearly keeping secrets from her, given the case of suspiciously specific denial on his part. With hands on her hips, she rose from her feet and began to stare him down like a hawk.
“If ya say it like that, then I haf’ta know. Jus’ what am I doin’ in your thoughts, huh? Hope it ain’t anythin’ creepy and perverted, ‘cause then, forget it—”
“Should I really even dignify that with a response?” he asked, unsure why she would think it was going to be anything perverted or creepy. Jeez could this girt get the weirdest ideas sometime.
“If you really wanna know… I was trying to figure out what to get you for Valentine’s Day. Is that such a bad thing?” With a sigh, Ruby shook his head. First it was wondering what to get her; now it was wondering if she deserved a gift at all. Still, he did have something in mind… Even if it was cheesy. Like, extremely cheesy. The most cheesiest thing in the world! And it was sitting on his belt with the rest of his team.
Plopping on the floor right in front of him, she held a curious gaze. “Talkin’ to yourself again?” He had to stop doing that, it was just plain weird and just asking to be eavesdropped, honestly. “What’cha on about?”
“Ah!” Ruby shouted as Sapphire suddenly appeared before him. It sent him straight to his feet since he was so deep in thought. Jeez, this girl just loved to make him freak out in the most rude ways. You never just do that to someone who is so lost in though. Especially when they are thinking about said person.
Calming down, the male sighed and took a seat back where he was. “Yeesh… Warn me next time before you just walk up on me like that… And to answer your question, I was thinking about… something. Certainly had nothing to do with you. Nope. Not at all. Not gonna tell you.” Now he was just being suspicious.
