He stares long and quite intensely at that most peculiar piece of headgear the other sports. It looks an awful like… “Huh, is that why so many folks keep thinkin’ my hair is a hat?”
Ruby did the exact same thing; he stared at the odd look-a-like but only thought about why there was someone parading around with his look. It was a little… strange, to say the least.
“Hair is a… Oh why does everyone keep bringing up my hat.” instead of even questioning why there was someone dressed like him, he just began to sulk about his whole hat situation again. It was seriously starting to get both a little old and hurtful now.
“Sometimes. There can be a double appeals round sometimes.” she explained. She knew the rules might have changed, but she must not have been in the contests with the old rules. This was interesting.
She watched gleefully as the other’s Pokémon pulled off an incredible appeal. “Wow! So pretty!” Dawn exclaimed with glee. ”You’re a great coordinator! By the way I never caught your name. I’m Dawn.”
Suddenly having a mic in his hand, Ruby made a grand pose to give himself a much proper introduction. He just had to impress everyone he met, huh? And just where exactly did he even keep that microphone at? This guy was full of surprises.
“My name is Ruby, and I am a well known Coordinator in the Hoenn region! I have won all of the contests possible and train under the most amazing coordinator I have ever met; my master Wallace! It was because of him that I have been able to get so far. I hope to keep impressing both him and any that see my contests in the future! My name will be known world wide one day!” Yeah, this guy was so full of himself when it came to contests. At least he was funny about it.
❝A coordinator? That’s cool! I’ve never met one before! Are ya any good? Do ya have lots of pretty ribbons? Oh! My name is Celebi, by the way! What’s your name?❞
Wow did this guy have a lot of questions. Not that Ruby minded at all. It was always nice to see someone take such interest in—
Wait did he said Celebi?
“W-wait… Celebi? But that can’t… how did—” Okay, Ruby was beyond confused now. Celebi was the Pokémon Emerald gave him information about. The one that helped him out before? But there was no way it was a human. No, not even close!
“How are… how are you a human? Aren’t you supposed to be a Pokémon? I saw you as a Pokémon!” Oh yeah, he nearly forget. “A-and uh… It’s Ruby. My names Ruby. Before I forget.”
▲ — The fact that someone had been willing to try her cake, even if it had been the first time and she wasn’t exactly sure if it was edible or not meant a greater deal to her than one would have originally thought.
Pure happiness seemed to radiate right from her but Latias could not deny that the anxiety the boy felt towards the cake was more than obvious. To her, at least. Nonetheless, he had accepted her offer of “cake” and that was all that mattered to her at the moment.
“How big would you like your slice? A very big piece? A very small piece? But it cannot be too big, because then that would mean less cake for me and other people who would like to try some of it as well.” — ▼
Well, even if it meant that Ruby was going to be getting sick beyond all belief from having a possibly not even finished cake, at least he was making someone happy. Though next time he was going to have to make sure to not be so nice about this kind of stuff. Here’s hoping that the cake was at least edible.
“A small slice will be good enough for me. i wouldn’t want to eat too much of it now.” There was a brief, awkward laugh coming from him as she looked at him with such a happy look. Just go along and eat the cake. That’s all he has to do.
There’s no point in getting mad over a small thing like that. If anything, fighting against Neo Team Rocket took priority. Not some silly pokemon fashion show… But mentioning that might bruise the boy. Figuratively speaking anyway.
“…A photo album of your pokemon victories..?” he questioned for a moment before shaking his head a little. “You don’t have to tell me about it.”
“Look if you don’t want to see it just tell me. You don’t have to beat around the bush about it. I’m just trying to figure out what to talk about since I hardly know much about any of you.” Jeez. If the guy didn’t care then why didn’t he just say so? Was that so hard? This was just starting to make Ruby feel a little hurt.
The discharge sends electricity through the bubbles, giving the water particles a unique shimmer. The two Pokémon come down from the combination twirling. Pachirisu sits on Piplup’s beak as he floats down balancing the pair on one toe. Dawn then takes a bow.
“Amazing! Though, I’ve never done a contest where you use two Pokémon at once. Is that a special form of contests where you’re from? The ones here have us use one Pokémon and the moves are rated based off appeal. It’s usually only one move at a time too.” If this was how contests were for the girl than that means Ruby would have a much different challenge there if he took them on.
Now his turn, Ruby looked over his team and gave a light hum. Which one should he use after such an astounding performance? Maybe Mimi would be a good choice. Though now in the back of his mind he was thinking of combinations for the future.
“Okay Mimi! Use Water Pulse!” he said, the Tender Pokémon listening to his command as she quickly used the move to send a majestic wave of water around her. It left her body and the air around her sparkling.
“As beautiful as ever!” Ruby shouted while giving her a hug.
