“This is not good. Not good at all!” Ruby paced back and forth, shaking his head. He couldn’t even find Sapphire yesterday so that meant he never got a chance to ask her anything about what she may vaguely want for today.
He already gave both of his parents a gift, along with having something at the ready for his own Master. But what do you get for a girl that loved to hang out in the woods and be almost that of a cavewoman when you first met them?
“Well… maybe I should take her out for some food. That’s always a good idea, right? But what about a gift… I can bring her some chocolate, and maybe a couple flowers? No… I don’t think she’d like flowers. Not sure she’d be much into jewelry or new clothes. Hmm…” This wasn’t going to go well for him if he couldn’t even think of something to get his friend crush. And who knew how she would react if there wasn’t some kind of special gift for her?
“I’m so done for…” said a sulking Ruby.

“I wonder what I should get her… I have a few ideas but I don’t know if she’d even want them. But it would still be the thought that counts, right? Hmm… What to do.”
